The Colonial Hall has a vast collection of items relating to the Colonial era from Okains Bay and other areas on Banks Peninsula, including whaling exhibitions, dairy equipment, the pioneer women display and the Little Akaloa Store collections. It also includes displays on the early pioneering families of the Bay including items of great significance which belonged to them.

From whaling equipment to early electrical appliances, you are sure to find something of interest and amazement in the Colonial Hall. The visual displays give an indication of how tough life was in these early days.
